In the 20th century, chamomile tea's traditional uses as a digestive aid for relief of indigestion, feeling of fullness and excess gas have been proven by extensive scientific investigation. Chamomile tea has carminative and antispasmodic actions, meaning that it can prevent and alleviate cramps in the gastrointestinal tract. Chamomile tea also has a proven calmative action and can be used for relief of restlessness. It is particularly useful for children with gastric indigestion associated with nervousness, tension or anxiety.* Ingredients: Organic German chamomile flower (Chamomilla recutita)** Recommendation: Pour 8 oz. of boiling water over one tea bag and steep, covered, for 3-5 minutes. Squeeze tea bag over cup to yield remaining extractive. Water temperature and the length of steeping time greatly influence the yield of beneficial components extracted from the herbs. Drink 3 or more cups daily. Add a slice of lemon or orange if desired.
